Vanessa Hudgens Cast in Modern Day Beauty and the Beast Film

Entertainment Tonight has a casting scoop regarding Vanessa Hudgens getting cast in a modern day take on Beauty and the Beast.

It seems like the film will be a teen spin on the familiar fantasy tale from Disney.

According to ET,

“Set in Manhattan, the movie tells the story of a handsome rich kid with a mean streak. When he ditches a date, a curse is placed upon him, turning him into everything he hates. The grotesque transformation leaves him with the seemingly impossible task of finding true love to break the ugly spell.”

Hudgens is set to play the main character that correlates with Belle from the Disney film, no word on if her name will be the same.

I am in no way seeing this film, it sounds rediculous, but then again I am not in the market segment for this type of crap. Hudgens is a hottie but this is a silly role and a silly film, kind of reminds me of The Cinderella Story starring Hillary Duff and Chad Michael Murray which was teen spin on that familiar tale as well.
