Michael Sheen Joins The Twilight Saga’s New Moon
British actor, Michael Sheen is trading in his Underworld Lycan skin for that of a vampire in the Twilight Saga’s New Moon. Known as the leader of the Lycans (werewolves) in the dark vampire series, Underworld and more recently the Frost/Nixon series, Sheen will be playing the leader of the Italian vampire series in the next installment.
Variety says,
“British thesp Michael Sheen has joined the “Twilight” brigade. Summit Entertainment has added Sheen to the cast of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which began shooting last month in Vancouver. Sheen, known for his roles in “Frost/Nixon” and “The Queen,” will portray the leader of the Volturi, an Italy-based coven of vampires, in the “Twilight” sequel.”
I really like Sheen and think he is a great actor and I am sure he’d make a good vampire, I mean he was a pretty cool werewolf. I have yet to see the first film and know absolutely nothing about the characters so I asked the Chic Geek if he was a good pick and she assures me he is a really good pick for the character of Aro, who can read every thought a person has ever had once he has made physical contact.

hm… I will have to adjust my thinking on him, though- going from a werewolf of a different kind to a very powerful vampire. Of course they’ll have to do a bunch of makeup changes, so maybe that will help. Yes— I think I approve of this casting choice.

I’ve also seen that Jamie Campbell-Bower has been cast to play Caius, another Volturi leader.
