Fused Focus: Invasion Of The Not Quite Dead

I met Anthony on Twitter and was very impressed and excited about his story, so I ask him to give us some details about this project in his own words!

THE INDYWOOD MOVIE PROJECT:

My name is Antony Lane, I am a recent graduate from the International Film of Wales, I was born and raised in the Grimsby area and for the past 2 years I have been persuing a dream to make an Independent Feature Film here in the UK, attempting to do the impossible and independently raise my movies budget from using a website.

Over the past two years my project has received an incredible amount of media attention due to having the legendary controversial filmmaker KEN RUSSELL attached as a consulting producer. We also have a string of well known horror celebrities interested in appearing in the movie, including TOM SAVINI (From Dusk Till Dawn), DAVID HESS (The Last House On The Left), EZRA BUZZINGTON (The Hills Have Eyes), LESLIE SIMPSON (The Descent), WARWICK DAVIS (Leprachaun), DAVID BAILIE (Pirates Of The Caribbean), ANTHONY HEAD (Buffy), and SEAN PERTWEE (Dog Soldiers) who we are in talks with to take the lead.

We are being promoted on LOVEFILM.com (Europe’s largest online rental website) as a future release, we are aslo in talks with a Cinema chain to give the movie a UK theatrical run in 2010.

We plan to shoot the movie in KENT, WALES and the ISLE OF SCILLY, since that is where the movie is set.

We currently have the support of the BBC who have done several articles on the movie project, BBC Radio has Interviewed me twice and a BBC documentary features me and Ken Russell auditioning a celebrity for a role, which will be featured in a BBC 2 documentary to be shown in August 09.

I have spent almost a year developing the script, I want to offer fans of the Zombie genre something new and unique, which is why I have developed a new zombie concept, something so bizarre that will have to be seen to be believed. Apart from Sean Of The Dead, we cant really say there is a descent UK Zombie Horror film, Sean of the Dead doesnt really count as its more spoof than horror, and 28 Days later is really classed as a Zombie movie, we want to start a brand new horror franchise, this is a planned trilogy.

We have managed to get a very talented crew together, most of which have blockbuster credits to their name…the following have been attached in the past 12 months:

Nicola Instone – Post Production Supervisor (Batman Begins, White Noise)
Rich Knight – Special Fx Makeup (Beowolf, Poseidon, Rocky Balboa)
Corrine Bossu – Head of Make Up (The Dutchess, King Kong)
Perry Costello – Special Fx, Armourer (Trainspotting, Last King of Scotland)
Andrew Strahorn – Cinematographer (Undead, House Of Bones)
Jesse D’ Angelo – Art Department, Make Up (Hellboy, Underworld, Sky Captain)
Lynda Reiss – Property Master (Eagle Eye, American Beauty, Cruel Intentions)
James Kenning – Sound (Top Gear, Dream Team)
Andrea Carnevali – Editor (Making of Dinotopia, Francesco’s Mediterranean Voyage)
Misha Segal – Emmy winner (Phantom Of The Opera, Punctured)

Nearly 2 years of internet promotion have generated a great buzz around the interent, which has already gotten the film on IMDB, Wikipedia, LOVEFILM, Odeon Direct, Empire, Fangoria, Sci-Fi Channel Online.

The cast I have already approached includes,

Tom Savini (Dawn Of The Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror) (Lead Villain) (in talks)
Sean Pertwee (Dog Soldiers, Doomsday, Event Horizon) (LEAD) (in talks)
David Hess (Last House On The Left, Swampthing)
Anthony Head (Buffy, Little Britain)(in talks)
Warrick Davis (Harry Potter, Return Of The Jedi, Willow)(in talks)
Ken Foree, (Dawn Of The Dead, Devils Rejects, Halloween)(in talks)
Kevin Pollak (Usual Suspects, Few Good Men)(in talks)

The following has approahed me for a role:

David Bradley (Harry Potter, Hot Fuzz)
David Bailey (Pirates of the Carribean Trilogy, Gladiator)
Antonia Okonma (Bad Girls, Moses Jones)
Axelle Carolyn (Descent Part 2, Doomsday) – Wife of NEIL MARSHALL

Here is the film’s storyline: In 1978 a meteorite crash lands into the Swiss Mountains, unleashing a deadly virus. Killing everyone within a 20 mile radius, the incident was covered up by local officials. Now thirty years later the virus is released onto an unsuspecting island off the coast of England. A group of survivors must band together in order to survive the death and destruction of the once friendly locals in this black comedy horror “Invasion Of The Not Quite Dead”. How you can be part of The Indywood Project!

If you type in INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD into either google or yahoo, you will see there is already an incredible amount of buzz regarding this film.

The goal is to raise £100,000 independently to make my high profile horror film “INVASION OF THE NOT QUITE DEAD” which is being produced by the legendary filmmaker KEN RUSSELL, we are also in talks with some huge names from the horror industry, TOM SAVINI (FROM DUSK TILL DAWN) is excited to play a role and so is DAVID HESS (LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT). We are currently looking for places that have a huge fan following to do an article on this project to help us to spread the word across the internet.

The movie is already being advertised on the IMDB, WIKIPEDIA, EMPIRE MAGAZINE, FANGORIA ONLINE, and Europe’s largest online rental website LOVEFILM.com as a future release, we are also on the radar of LionsGate Films who are keeping an eye on the project.

One of the biggest areas of the fundraising site is to offer 5000 people a Photo ZOMBIE Makeover, as seen in the promotional poster of which me and Ken Russell have been zombified. We have teamed up with a visual arts studio, Destination Creation who will be in charge of digitally zombifing up normal every day folk.

Another fundraising area is to offer 1000 limited edition Pre-order Dvds and if our buyers are local to the UK they can have an extra role in the movie.

We are also looking for Business Sponsorship, so far this week we have managed to get a UK Leisure centre chain (BROMLEY MYTIME) sponsoring us for £1000 and a casting call website starsinmyeyes.tv which have sponsored us for £500.

All the best
