According to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, Robert Pattinson is eyeing a starring role in Memoirs for the studio. “The script, originally penned by Will Fetters, centers on a pair of star-crossed lovers who meet and fall in love while struggling to deal with family tragedies that threaten their relationship. Jenny Lumet, who penned “Rachel Getting Married,” is aboard to rewrite.” [Variety]

“Allen Coulter — who directed “Hollywoodland,” which dealt with the death of George Reeves, and has been nominated for six Emmys for his work on HBO’s “The Sopranos” and FX’s “Damages” — is in negotiations on the project”[Hollywood Reporter]as a director.

Pattinson is a solid actor, I have only seen him in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but have heard he is good in Twlight and his character in this new film may not be that far off from Edward Cullen. Besides he is popular with the ladies right now so he’ll have them all swooning in this “fall-in-love” chick flick.
