Mother Ellen? DeGeneres to play Mother Nature in New Comedy!

Ellen DeGeneres has signed on as Mother Nature in a yet-to-be titled project being produced by Walden Media. Sex and the City writer-executive producer Jenny Bicks has script duties.
The film is an original concept from Walden, and will see my favorite talk show host return to Earth for the first time since it was created.
“I’ve always wanted to control the weather,” DeGeneres said. “Nothing will stop me from doing this … neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet. … I may be thinking of the postal service — but I’m really excited about the movie.”
Walden execs Michael Bostick and Evan Turner are overseeing the project. The company is fast-tracking it for a potential summer shoot in L.A. while the Ellen show is on hiatus.
For those unfamiliar, Walden Media is a family-friendly company that produced the “Chronicles of Narnia” series, “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Charlotte’s Web.” Next up for the company are “Tooth Fairy” with Dwayne Johnson and “Ramona & Beezus,” which were both adapted from Beverly Cleary books.
DeGeneres, hasn’t taken a live-action film role since “EDtv” and “The Love Letter” in 1999. Of course, her most memorable role has to be the voice of Dory in Pixar’s “Finding Nemo.” Ellen is also producing and lending her voice to “Dog Show,” an animation project in development at Warner Bros.
I love Ellen, I watch her talk show everyday and I am early anticipating this film.
