Merman gets picked up by Universal and Imagine
A new fish out of water, romantic comedy script by Jennifer Abu Hollander, titled, Merman, has been picked up by Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.
The film which seems almost a twist on the film Splash revolved around a merman who comes to land so he can win back his mermaid fiancee, who has left him for a real man. Speaking of Splash, Brian Grazer, who is producing the film through his Imagine Entertainment banner, produced Splash and was how he partnered up with his Imagine pal, Ron Howard.
Anyway seems like news someone would be interested in but as far as I am concerned Splash was already done but if they want to call this Splash 2: Merman I would be OK with that.
