TV News: United States of Tara Picked Up for 2nd Season
Toni Collette’s new show The United States of Tara has already been renewed for a second season. Tara is a drama about a woman suffering from Disscociative Identity Disorder, resulting in multiple personalities. Through a combination of new and repeat airings, the show is averaging 2.1 million viewers per week. The first season numbers are better than the initial seasons of Showtime staples Dexter and Weeds. Also, Sunday nights’ fourth episode averaged 15% more viewers than he previous week’s installment.
I have only seen parts of the first episode, but I like Toni Colette and I am looking forward to watching this one on DVD. Kudos also to writer Diablo Cody. It looks as if she has proven to be more than a ”one trick pony” and now has a hit film (Juno) and a hit series under her belt.
