TV News: Burn Notice’s Jeff Donovan gets Big Pay Day!
Jefferey Donovan, star of the hit USA show Burn Notice, has renegotiated his contract with Fox Studios. Now, Donovan will be paid between $125,00 to $150,00 per episode, which is quite a leap from the $55,00 he previously made. The new deal also adds one year to his original seven-year contract for the show. For the uninitiated, Donovan plays Michael Westen, a fomer spy who was fired, or “burned”. Westen makes a living helping people in need while tracking down the people that “burned” him. He is assisted by his temperamental, gun-wielding ex-girlfriend Fiona, portrayed by Gabrielle Anwar.
Westen is also assisted by an ex-spy buddy named Sam Axe, played by the great Bruce Campbell, and Sharon Gless rounds out the cast as Madeline Westen, Michael’s mom. Burn Notice is currently in the winter portion of its second season and is the top cable drama series among adults ages 18-49.
Personally, I love the show. Michael Westen is like the hip, slightly twisted son MacGyver never had. He’s extemely resourceful, and he narrates every episode. It’s sort of like “Spying for Dummies”. I’m not sure if it can sustain itself for six more seasons, but it does have a solid cast.
