The Flash Casting Calls? Neil Patrick Harris and Scott Porter

So it seems natural for these type of conversations and interweb rumors to insue once a major property starts being talked about. This  is no different for Warner Brother’s and DC’s The Flash.

Screenrant is reporting that Neil Patrick Harris is being rumored for the role.

“Now comes possible “insider” news that Neil Patrick Harris is being looked at to play the Scarlet Speedster.”

Also Friday Night Light’s star and Rex Racer, Scott Porter, is now apparently making a run at the role of the comic book speedster. According to ThinkMcFlyThink,

“We’ve received word from a very-reliable source that actor Scott Porter is one of those actors.”

Neither one of these actors I am opposed too. Neil Patrick Harris, I beleive has voiced the character in animated form, so his skill of making Wally West a chatty and witty character that he supposed to be works. His look isn’t that bad either. Scott Porter has a good look but I think he is on the outside looking in. Obviously the best casting is Ryan Reynolds and I do not think anyone, anywhere would disagree with that but fortune favors the bold and it looks like Marvel and Fox rapped him up quickly to play Deadpool in Wolverine and  other spin-off franchises.

I think NPH may be my second favorite casting buzz for the Wally West version of The Flash.

    NPH has played Wally West in animated form. I think Scott Porter would be an okay choice as well.

    Actually, NPH played Barry Allen in animated form, in last year’s direct-to-DVD “Justice League: The New Frontier.”

    Since DC has been busy re-positioning Barry Allen as their main Flash, it’s a safe bet that the movie will star Barry.

    I have another casting suggestion – How about Justin Hartley?

    @Kelson

    thanks for the extra information!

    You can’t assume that DC’s repositioning of Barry in the comics will translate into WB’s plans for a Flash movie at all. Batman’s dead in the comics, but that won’t stop them from making another Batman film will it? DC Comics have zilch to do with WB putting a solid cast together. They put out what they feel will make the most money. And if the script allows them to do so, they will. Remember the JL:Mortal script called for Barry Allen to die early on in the film.

    Batman is dead? When did that happen?

    Bruce Wayne isn’t dead per se (well someone is, Superman has someone’s burnt corpse), he’s just…hmm…let’s say on vacation for awhile. Hahaha. Ahem, just check out Final Crisis 6 and 7. :p

    Anyhow, I hope this movie has Wally cause to be honest I always found Barry to be a little ‘blah’. :/

    That and I like red headed guys. ;D

    I’m not 100% sure, but I think Neil Patrick Harris would be playing Barry Allen and Scott Porter as Wally West. I mean, look at NPH he’s looks EXACLTLY like Barry. You’d have to be retarded not to have him be Barry. And I remember reading somewhere that Barry would be in the movie in both the beginning and in flashbacks (no pun intended).
