Pitt and Soderbergh Team Up Again for the “Money”
Brad Pitt is teaming up with his Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh for the upcoming film Moneyball.
Moneyball recounts the true story of Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane who used a computer program to select players and build a successful winning team. The film is based on Michael Lewis’ popular book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. Pitt has been a part of the cast since last fall, but Soderbergh became involved with the project after original Director David Frankel resigned.
I had no idea the A’s used a computer program. That twist, plus Pitt and Soderbergh? I’m in. I love how Soderbergh keeps jumping from the blatantly commercial films (the Ocean’s franchise) to the soon-to-be arthouse favorites (the film Che with Benicio Del Toro) and back again.
