Below the Fold: Sherlock Holmes Re-shoots Untrue, Liev Schrieber Joins Salt, Nottingham re-named Robin Hood
So Below the Fold is all the headlines we didn’t get to this morning or earlier this week since they were at the bottom of most of our source site and email inboxes. Funny because now they are on the top of the site after this is posted.
- So apparently there was a rumor circulating the internet today that Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes film was in dire need of re-shoots. Now there is an update from the studio regarding the validity of the claim. “UPDATE! Warner Brothers has spoken and this release isn’t true. It seems that a UK tabloid started the rumor which apparently The Sun then picked up on. All is on schedule with the Sherlock Holmes production, and everything is going as planned.”“Original Rumor: It seems a legendary detective isn’t as elementary as one would think. According to The Sun UK, Warner Bros. has reportedly sent director Guy Ritchie back to re-shoot five weeks worth of scenes of Sherlock Holmes.“
- It seems that Angelina Jolie is getting some company aboard her new spy film. According to Moviehole, Liev Schreiber has joined the cast of Salt. The film revolves around Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a CIA agent who is accused of going rogue by a Russian spy and goes on the lam to evade her pursuers long enough to clear her name. The site is reporting that Schreiber will play Ted Winter, Salt’s friend and colleague at the CIA.
- MTV Movie BLog is reporting that the Ridley Scott Nottingham film is getting a name change to become just Robin Hood.“Oh yes, I think we are just going to call it Robin Hood,” Scott told the site. “We start in almost 2 months.” Russell Crowe will be playing the titular character.
