Third Batman Coming in 2011?
I am gonna chalk this is up as speculation from one of the producers of the recent Batman franchise. Micheal Uslan, who we last wrote about talking about the upcoming Shadow re-make, recently talked about a proposed release date for the third Batman film.
“Uslan will be onboard as executive producer for the “Dark Knight” sequel, which he estimates will be theaters by 2011. As for the identity of the next round of Batman’s supervillains and love interests, Uslan remains tight-lipped. “It’s one of those deals where if I told you, I’d have to kill you,” he says with a chuckle.”
All I have to say is, whatever, this seems like wishful thinking, especially after the Heath Ledger hangover is over and the Oscar “snub” – the question still asked – Will Nolan return? Release dates are premature and I am sure that is Uslan’s way of feeding more fuel to the proverbial fire. I think with an Oscar snub – that may give some ancy pants for Nolan and his crew to commit with a chance to “out do” themselves and get some respect from the Academy with a third film much like Jackson and the Lord of the Rings did. In a way all you TDK lovers hating on the Academy should take this optimistic approach I have applied to the sequel that may or may not happen.
