“Atlantis” will be “Rising” with Len Wiseman
Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard director, Len Wiseman is now signed on to direct the film adaptation of the comic, Atlantis Rising.
According to Variety,
“Len Wiseman has signed on to direct a bigscreen adaptation of the apocalyptic sci-fi comicbook “Atlantis Rising” for DreamWorks.”
Newly found writers turned producing team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will be producing the movie due to the fact they brought it to Dreamworks for the greenlight.
“Created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Atlantis Rising is a five-part miniseries published by Platinum Studios. Story kicks off when seismic disturbances at sea force world military to investigate the deepest part of the ocean, where an underground civilization emerges to engage in war with planet Earth.”
The article also mentions that Rosenberg is co-producing the project as well. I think this is great, the Atlantis myth is such a fascinating one that brings so many interesting story ideas and this comic is certainly one that is interesting and well done. I like Len Wiseman too, so I think he will do a great job with the project.
