Watchmen Advanced Screenings Say “Ending is Different!”

Watchmen, the highly anticipated film that I could care less about, has had some advanced screenings of it scrutinized due to the ending  not being the same as the book. I am not about posting spoilers so I will put the link below for everyone to read at there own risk.

A special advance screening of Watchmen was held in Portland, Oregon recently, and spoilers from the screening are appearing (and being deleted) faster than you might believe.  Comic Book Movie has been capturing as many of those reactions and spoilers as they can, including several reports that the ending of the film has some significant differences from the comic.

Also Collider had somethings to add to this report when speaking to Kevin Smith in a recent interview, where he talks about having seen Watchmen. Here is his response to the question about if the ending is different:

“It’s a little different. While it is a slight departure, it actually makes sense in the context of the story because it brings the characters back into it. It kind of makes the movie more about them by the end of it because of the switch they made. I would never say that Alan Moore f***** it up or something. I love the ending of the Watchmen comic book, but I think this ending works just as well.”

So this is just furthur proving why I do not care or want to see this movie. Watchmen is not going to be like the book and that is always an issue when developing Alan Moore’s stories to film. The ending may work and not be that big of a deal to fans but again it may be a reason why the film will suck. All in all it still doesn’t interest me and the ending change just increases that. Maybe they made the ending all about them so it good maybe slightly hint at a completley original sequel or spin-off. That would be cool, wouldn’t Watchmen fans?
