Is Star Wars: Force Unleashed getting a Big Screen Treatment?

The Los Angeles Times posted a story yesterday claiming that the newest video game installment in the Star Wars Universe, The Force Unleashed might find its way onto the big screen. Project leader on the game Haden Blackman is very hopeful and confident that his hard work might just become the next Star Wars theatrical film to see its way into theaters.
Blackman stated:
“Oh, that would be incredible. And it’s not impossible. Never say never. George [Lucas] has looked to tell new ‘Star Wars’ stories through the games and with the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe, and then he has also shown a willingness to let the characters come into the films. Look at Aayla Secura, a creation in the [Dark Horse] comic books who became part of the theatrical films.”
The story also sites George Lucas’ willingness to bring the new Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars to the big screen as an indication that Lucas isn’t against bringing a videogame to the Cineplex. Blackman not only wrote the video game, but he also wrote a graphic novel based on the new property, which could very well be used as a blueprint for the film.
I think this is a great idea and is something that I would be more willing to see than more Clone Wars crap. The Clone Wars stuff is so over saturated and tiresome. As a fan I want to see something new and though I haven;t played the video game, the story has a major appeal. They should also do this movie live action. However, if they did do it in the animated format the story alone would get me to see it in theaters.
