Spidey gets a Pay Day! Maguire gets a Uprecedented Deal!

Tobey Maguire has signed a deal for his appearance in Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 , and according to the Times Online , he has a clause in his contract that gives him time off specifically to spend with his daughter.

Maguire, who will film the two movies back-to-back over six months has insisted that he get early mornings and evenings off to play with his daughter, Ruby, who is 22 months old. Maguire will earn $50m in salary and profit shares from the two movies.

Apparently Sony was weary of giving Maguire the family time, for fear of setting a precedent. However Sony Chairman, Amy Pascal, stepped in saying that six months without family time would be unfair to any parent.

“Tobey admits he is obsessive-compulsive about everything he does, and raising Ruby is no different,” a friend of Maguire’s said. “There’s no way Tobey would allow work, no matter how well paid, to get between him and Ruby, and Sony realized that.”

Sony is expected to reveal in the next few days whether or not Kirsten Dunst will be returning as Mary-Jane Watson.

Money is money and man is Spidey making some cash. That being said get ready for Dunst to hold out for her payday too. Unprecendented means it will become precedented. Although I could see them not reaching a deal with her and eliminating her role from the script. I would be OK with that.
