Millar talks Man of Steel Project! New Superman Trilogy?
It seems that comic book and screenplay writer, Mark Millar wants to recreate Superman with a whole new trilogy and he tells G4-TV all about it! This is an extension of his comments he made back in late June early July stating that he was pitching a new Superman project. Here is what he told G4-TV.
“A director approached me about three months ago,” Millar said. “and he said ‘look, [Bryan Singer's] The Man Of Steel might not be happening. If that doesn’t happen, it has been spoken about the possibility of me coming in, would you like to write it?’ And I was like Yeah.”
Yeah, we have already heard this before, but here is where the juicy details come in:“I’ve had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a big Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. And hopefully release them one year after another,” continued Millar. “If it works out, we’ll have to start shooting next summer.”
I really think that this might be the guy to bring the Man of Steel onto the big screen again in a reboot. Warner Brothers has already said that rebooting Supes is in the best interest of the franchise and DC Comics. Maybe Millar and whatever creative teams he gets are the guys that can do what Nolan sis for Batman…should be interesting to see if this is going to be taken seriously by Warners and it isn’t just Millar talking out his ass!
