Green Lantern to start shooting in Spring of 2009

FirstShowing spoke with producer Donald De Line where he revealed that a new draft of The Green Lantern has been turned in, and while nothing is “confirmed” they’re “gearing up to start shooting early spring.”

Latino Review got their hands on the script a couple weeks ago, and El Mayimbe called it “one of the most solid first draft superhero screenplays EVER”.

It is great to here this especially since we just had a Fused Film Factor Podcast talking about it. Green Lantern is definitely a way for DC to start competing better with Marvel. Green Lantern is such an epic sci-fi tale that is probably the most interesting mythology that many comics do not have. This is a film franchise that is perfect for DC to begin their development of other projects. I am gonna use this opportunity to put my pick for Hal Jordan out there and say that it should be Chris Pine. Adam says it should be “Clive Owen.”

If you are interested in reading some good Green Lantern I suggest Rebirth or Emerald Dawn.
