Tobey Maguire is a Crusader!

According to Variety, Tobey Maguire has signed on to Universal’s The Crusaders, a drama about the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case.

Maguire is going to play Jack Greenberg, who, an idealistic lawyer fresh out of law school, who joined with NAACP Legal Defense Fund head and future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall to win a Supreme Court case that ruled segregation in American schools illegal.

The project is based on Greenberg’s memoirs “Crusaders in the Courts.” A production day has not been set.

This movie seems intriguing to me and I wonder how accurate its representation will be. It seems to me movie like this always miss the point and don’t fully capture the time, the moment or the story. Also I am not a huge Maguire fan so his presence always seems a little forced to me.
