Rumor: Christian Bale is Robin Hood!
Update: Bale is not Robin Hood! that was a Rumor.
Christian Bale is getting all the cool roles that every boy dreams of when they are playing make believe or running around in the back yard playing with friends. First he is Batman, then he gets to time travel and out run Terminators as John Conner and now…Robin Hood, he gets to hook up with Maid Marion. [darn!]
UK tabloid the Daily Mail has reported that CHRISTIAN BALE is in talks to star alongside KEIRA KNIGHTLY and RUSSELL CROWE in RIDLEY SCOTT’S Robin Hood re-imagining titled “Nottingham.”
At this point these are rumours and there is no confirmation that he has been cast. The Daily Mail says:
“Nothing is signed for Bale, but director Ridley Scott is exceedingly keen to cast him. Costume fittings begin next week, so he’ll be either in or out by then. Vanessa Redgrave and William Hurt are also in discussions about being in the film…”
The film is sort of a twist on the legendary tale. This version has been tagged with the line “There are two sides to every story.” In Scott’s version we see the other side to the Steal from the Rich and Give to the Poor idea in which the Sheriff of Nottingham (Crowe) is in fact is noble in is his effort, whereas Robin Hood is less virtuous than is made out to be. A love triangle forms between the legendary do-gooder, Maid Marion and the archer’s arch nemesis, the Sheriff of Nottingham.
