Why I think JJ Abrams is going to leave me wanting more Star Trek

startrek_new.jpgI watched LOST last night (one of the best shows on tv) and as usual  I had more questions asked than answered. This got me to thinking about Cloverfield (which could be one of the best movies of the year) it left me with more questions than ones answered. I hope with Star Trek he changes his MO. I can see the plot now… Bad guy goes back in time, changes future, Spock goes back fixes problem and boom no one remembers a thing.

Great that is just about every time travel espiode of Star Trek. I like the alternate universe ones. The thing is when everyone forgets it leaves me unsatisifed. This is fine for LOST and for Cloverfield but with Star Trek I want more! Not just a lookback to when the crew is younger and you see them bold, brash and clumsy.  Oh Well, I will have to wait and see what the film delivers. In the mean time this post is starting to depress me. At least I will have the Hobbit to look forward to…wait that looks like it is going to be a stinker too.

Peace Out! MajorXero!

Kent 1985: I agree with you buddy! But you have to understand this story works as a way to rebuild the TOS universe and reintroduce it to old Trek fans and a new generation of Trek fans. To story may lack and leave us with questions but isn’t that what a film is supposed to do? Leave us wanting more so we will pay money to see a sequel but to also leave us wanting a sequel. My concern is that they just stay fan friendly and canon friendly.

Oh yeah do not click on MajorXero’s Random Link of the Day, it is gross!
